•We give you training regarding the correct way to use and maintain lenses so they will not harm the health of your eye in long term use
•We check your eyes at regular intervals and make sure there are no side effects.
What side effects can contact lenses cause?
•Contact lenses if over used (more than 8 hours a day and during sleep) can deprive your cornea of oxygen and affect your eye health.
•Contact lenses if not cleaned properly can cause eye infections that can permanently affect your vision.
•Long term use of contact lenses can sometimes cause eye allergy, leading to redness and irritation.
•In case of any such problem: Immediately discontinue contact lenses and consult your ophthalmologist.
Low Vision Aids:

There are some eye problems in which, inspite of the best treatment, complete visual recovery is sometimes not possible. These mainly include congenital and age related diseases of the retina or optic nerve. In such patients we can still help by prescribing special Low Vision glasses and devices like magnifiers and telescopes which help them to utilise whatever vision they have in a more efficient manner.
Dr. Bapaye Hospital has a special Low Vision Clinic run by our ophthalmologist and optometrist who have been trained in the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
